KENT BARRETT is a multi-discplinary theatrical designer and artist who has developed a wide ranging body of work and established a national and international presence on the performance scene. Kent will be designing ways in which we can exhibit Soul Shoes in public spaces to draw attention to the violence against children.
Kent currently teaches theatrical design at MIT in Cambridge and continues to work regularly throughout the country as a designer for numerous performing arts institutions including Florida’s storied Hippodrome State Theater and the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater. A prolific technologist, Kent’s works have been seen in New York City and Internationally with The Wooster Group, The Public Theater, The Brooklyn Lyceum, and Lincoln Center among many others. In addition to his work in theater, dance and performance, Kent has also collaborated widely on independent films as well as with various architectural lighting firms. Kent is an NEA grant recipient and continually produces artwork in various mediums..
